Assistant Psychologist

 Assistant Psychologist

Salary: Band 4 on NHS AfC (dependent on skills/experience) plus London Weighting

 Eagle House Group is an independent co-educational day provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 19, providing education for pupils who have an autistic spectrum disorder and related conditions including social, emotional and mental health needs. We are currently recruiting an Assistant Psychologist to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team) based across two sites, Eagle House School (Sutton) and Eagle House 6th Form (Strawberry Lodge) in Carshalton. Our multi-disciplinary team of professionals includes speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, clinical psychologist, behaviour support specialist and assistant psychologists.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • To provide pupils, parents and staff with a comprehensive range of support, advice and guidance in relation to promoting positive behaviour and well-being.
  • To work with staff and pupils across the schools as well as collaborate with families and external agencies to carry out assessments, interventions, monitor and report on progress and participate in in-service training.

 We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist who is:

  • Highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has relevant experience of working with individuals with autism and complex needs
  • Training and experience in mental health will be highly regarded.
  • Has minimum requirement of a Psychology Degree

 The hours of work will be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm, 52 weeks per year.

Band 5/6 (Salary dependent on experience)

Part time, maternity cover

Term time only plus 4 weeks per annum (pro-rata)

Eagle House Group is an independent co-educational day provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 19, providing education for pupils who have an autistic spectrum disorder and related conditions including Social, emotional and mental health needs. We are currently recruiting a band 5/6 Speech & Language Therapist to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team) in our Post 16 Provision – Strawberry Lodge in Carshalton.

The successful candidate will be a Band 5/6 therapist and join our multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour support specialists and assistant psychologists. You will be required to work on a part time basis, 2.5 days per week between Mon and Fri, during the hours 8.15am to 4.15pm, term time plus four weeks (pro-rata) during the school holidays. Supervision and opportunities for CPD will be provided.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Assessment and intervention planning
  • Group and individual therapy as required
  • Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
  • Curriculum development
  • Report writing and record keeping

We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapist who is:

  • Highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has relevant experience of working with young people with special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome and Social, emotional and mental health need is desirable
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is RCSLT and HCPC registered
  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
