Specialist Primary Autism Teacher (South London)

Salary: £30-£45k inc. SEN allowance (depending on experience)

Eagle House School, Mitcham is a ‘good’ with outstanding features (Ofsted Nov 2017) broad spectrum special school for pupils aged from 4 to 12 years who have a diagnosis of autism or Asperger Syndrome. If successful, you will be responsible for teaching a class of 4 to 6 pupils assisted by a minimum of 3 Learning Support Assistants. Your responsibilities will include line managing your LSAs, planning schemes of work with your teaching colleagues, setting PDP (IEP) targets, delivering high quality lessons and assessing pupils’ achievement and progress.

Paediatric Occupational Therapist Band 5/6 (South London)

P/T or F/T, Term time only for 40 weeks per annum

Salary dependant on level and relevant experience.

We are seeking a Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist (with at least 2 years post graduate experience or a Band 5 that has gained the required experience to progress to a Band 6) wishing to work in a school setting, to join our multi-disciplinary team comprising of speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, psychology, music and yoga therapy. The successful candidate will be required to work at our primary school in Mitcham, Surrey.

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist who:

  • Is highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has experience working with children and young people
  • Has experience of Sensory Integration or a willingness to learn
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has experience working collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Is seeking to further develop their skills and knowledge in working with young people with Autism
  • Has knowledge of the National Curriculum and statutory requirement of IEPs
  • Must have HPC Registration, be a member of BAOT, hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy and have Paediatric experience.
  • Gained previous relevant experience with autism and/or Asperger’s syndrome.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Group and individual therapy and class based work
  • Carrying out assessments where required
  • Delivering in-service training where required
  • Strong MDT approach

Speech & Language Therapist

Full-time position (Part-time may be considered)

Band 6 or Band 5 (Salary dependent on position and experience)

Term time only plus 2 weeks per annum  

We are now in a position to recruit a full-time Speech and Language Therapist for a Band 5 or 6 role at Mitcham School to work with our cohort of pupils between 4 to 11 years, who have an autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome and associated social & communication difficulties.

The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour support specialists and assistant psychologists. You will be required to work on a full time basis (8.15am to 4.15pm, 5 days a week) plus two weeks during the school holidays. The successful applicate will be expected to work term time hours and 2 weeks in the school holidays. Supervision and opportunities for CPD will be provided and based on annual appraisal reviews.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Assessment and intervention planning
  • Group and individual therapy as required
  • Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
  • Curriculum development
  • Report writing and record keeping

We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapist who:

  • Is highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has relevant experience of working with young people with special needs, including autism and Asperger’s syndrome is desirable
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is RCSLT and HCPC registered

The successful candidate will need to hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

The successful candidate will automatically be enrolled onto our private Health Care Plan.
