Term time only plus 4 weeks per annum (pro-rata)

Eagle House Group is an independent co-educational day provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 19, providing education for pupils who have an autistic spectrum disorder and related conditions including Social, emotional and mental health needs. We are currently recruiting a band 5/6 Speech & Language Therapist to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team) in our Post 16 Provision – Strawberry Lodge in Carshalton.

The successful candidate will be a Band 5/6 therapist and join our multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour support specialists and assistant psychologists. You will be required to work on a part time basis, 2.5 days per week between Mon and Fri, during the hours 8.15am to 4.15pm, term time plus four weeks (pro-rata) during the school holidays. Supervision and opportunities for CPD will be provided.

 Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Assessment and intervention planning
  • Group and individual therapy as required
  • Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
  • Curriculum development
  • Report writing and record keeping

We are looking for a Speech & Language Therapist who is:

  • Highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has relevant experience of working with young people with special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome and Social, emotional and mental health need is desirable
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is RCSLT and HCPC registered
  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

Learning Support Assistants (South London)

Salary £16,000 to £18,000 per annum pro rata with potential to increase to £21,000 (Dependent on skills and experience)

Eagle House School (Mitcham) is an independent specialist co-educational day school providing primary and early year’s education for learners, aged 4 to 11 years with an autism spectrum disorder (including Aspergers syndrome) and associated social and communication difficulties. Many of our learners have complex needs and behaviour associated with their autism.

We are currently seeking reliable, hard -working and flexible Learning Support Assistant’s to join our established specialist autism primary school.

The position will involve:

  • Supporting Class teachers to offer a broad-based, appropriate curriculum
  • Assisting with the supervision of children outside of classroom activities e.g. meal times and recreation times

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who have:

  • an understanding of/interest in autism
  • experience of working with children or vulnerable adults in an education or care setting
  • an ability to work as part of a team and to use their initiative to support and implement the Eagle House approach to helping pupils who have a range of needs associated with having autism
  • a passion for supporting children to help them manage their challenging behaviours and an ability to stay very calm in challenging situations
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths

At Eagle House School (Mitcham), we recognise that successful learning is achieved through positive experiences and strive to create a school day that is motivating, rewarding and purposeful for each child. At the core of our teaching and learning is the Eagle House Approach, which has been developed specifically for learners with autism and brings together the ‘best of the best’ approaches. This approach is supported by our in-house multidisciplinary team of therapists, which comprises speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, a behaviour support specialist, music therapist and yoga therapist and is led by our clinical psychologist. We are looking for candidates interested in working as part of this dynamic team.

Hours will be Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.15am to 3.30pm, during term time only.

The successful candidate will automatically be enrolled onto our private Health Care Plan.

Eagle House School, Mitcham is a ‘good’ with outstanding features (Ofsted Nov 2017) broad spectrum special school for pupils aged from 4 to 12 years who have a diagnosis of autism or Asperger Syndrome. Due to the rising numbers of parents seeking to place their children at our school we need high quality SEN teachers to meet this demand. Applicants must have specialist knowledge and experience of teaching children with autism, either from working in a special school, or from working in a mainstream school that has excellent ASD practice and provision.
