Eagle House School (Bramley), situated in Walton on the Hill, Surrey, will offer a highly specialised therapeutic provision for up to 36 pupils aged 5-16 years who have an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and additional social, emotional and mental health needs, moderate learning difficulties, mental health difficulties, PDA and ADHD.

Our key aim is to ensure that the pupils will be able to engage, learn and to be happy and settled in the environment of a school. The admission arrangements for our pupils can be found on our website within the admission policy.

Set in the delightful village of Walton on the Hill, the school benefits from an abundance of internal and external space including opportunities for outdoor learning and play. Our specialist learning zones will provide space for both small group learning and individual teaching. Eagle House Group is an independent co-educational day provision for pupils between the ages of 4 and 19, providing education for pupils who have an autistic spectrum disorder and related conditions including Social, emotional and mental health needs. Due to the expansion of our provision, we are recruiting two additional Speech & Language Therapists to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team); One for our Secondary school in Sutton (maternity cover) and one part time (permanent) to work at our new therapeutic provision in Tadworth, Surrey.

The successful candidate will be a Band 6 therapist and join our multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, behaviour support specialists, assistant psychologists, and a dramatherapist. You will be required to work on a full time basis (8.15am to 4.15pm, 5 days a week) plus two weeks during the school holidays. The successful applicant will be expected to work term time hours and 2 weeks in the school holidays.

Main responsibilities will involve:

  • Assessment and intervention planning
  • Group and individual therapy as required
  • Working within classes and providing consultative support as part of the multi-disciplinary team
  • Development and implementation of training for staff and other professionals
  • Curriculum development
  • Report writing and record keeping

We are looking for Speech & Language Therapists who are:

  • Highly motivated, passionate, dynamic and flexible
  • Has relevant experience of working with young people with special needs, including autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome and Social, emotional and mental health need is desirable
  • Has highly developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Is RCSLT and HCPC registered
  • Hold a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.

Eagle House School (Bramley) will open in September 2019 as part of Eagle House Group’s established and highly specialised provisions for children with Autism and related conditions. Our newest provision will offer a specialist education for pupils aged 5-16 who, in addition to their high functioning ASD, present with complex SEMH needs. This discrete provision will provide a therapeutic based curriculum and a strong focus on multidisciplinary working.

We are looking to appoint a Site Maintenance Officer looking for a new challenge. This is a flexible role that aims to support the Headteacher to ensure the smooth running of the school with a particular emphasis on the health and safety of all staff, learners and visitors. .

The suitable candidate will be responsible for:-

  • Day to day management and maintenance of the centre’s buildings and surrounding grounds to ensure the smooth running of the facility as a whole.
  • Maintaining the compliance processes for Fire safety and health and safety
  • Responsible for attending call outs, attending to maintenance requests, day to day repairs and to liaise with contractors
  • When required, to provide support to the provision which may include support to learners in classrooms, with activities, off site visits, attendance at College and work experience.
  • General administration and Reception cover duties as necessary.

We are looking for a candidate who has:

  • A good understanding of H&S standards and procedures
  • Willing to undergo H&S related training (IOSH) as necessary to carry out your role effectively.
  • A good level of practical general repairs skills with the ability to respond and attend to simple maintenance requests around the site to ensure site security and health and safety compliance
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • A high understanding of autistic spectrum disorders and relevant experience of working in this environment
  • Previous experience as an HLTA including knowledge of strategies and teaching approaches specific to young people with high functioning autism.
  • Hold a full clean UK driving license with a D1 entitlement.
  • A passion for supporting young people to help them manage the barriers presented by their ASD with the focus on successful college attendance and work experience an ability to work as part of a team or unsupervised

An exciting, unique opportunity has arisen where we are seeking a qualified and experienced Counselling or Clinical Psychologist with a passionate interest in supporting children and young people with autism and SEMH difficulties, to lead our new therapy team. Our newest provision based in Walton-on-the-Hill will offer a specialist education for pupils aged 5-16 who, in addition to their high functioning ASD, present with complex SEMH needs. This discrete provision will provide a therapeutic curriculum and a strong focus on multidisciplinary working.

The core role will be providing specialist support to our new therapeutic school team which opens in September 2019 for pupils with ASD/SEMH/PDA/demand avoidant profiles. Working collaboratively as part of the schools multi-disciplinary team to provide individual support frameworks for students presenting with social, emotional and mental health issues and provide practical advice and guidance to the School as a whole in order to support good autism practice. The post holder will be responsible for providing clinical supervision to our psychotherapists and our class based assistant psychologists. You will also be required to support a small cohort of pupils from our primary and secondary school who may be experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties.

It is essential that applicants have experience of working with this cohort, and must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

The role involves:

  • Being part of a dynamic and autism focused multi-disciplinary team
  • Overseeing the therapeutic and clinical needs of up to 36 young people at our new school and where required, selected pupils across our other three highly specialist provisions
  • Direct working with our most complex young people in regular sessions
  • Working as part of the Bramley School Leadership team to embed our therapeutic curriculum
  • Responsibility for a strong ethos of Positive Behaviour Support and pupil wellbeing across our schools

Ensuring the kitchen and dining area is kept clean and tidy meeting hygiene and H&S regulations. Receive deliveries, ensure stock is rotated and controlled in order to minimise wastage. Liaise with the Headteacher and multidisciplinary therapeutic team to prepare daily menus for pupils who have sensory difficulties associated with food and limited diets so menus must be creative and encouraging these pupils to try.

 

Do you have:

  • Excellent culinary skills, passion for food and enjoy creating appetizing ‘home cooked’ dishes on a daily basis using fresh ingredients.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate/Food Safety in Catering Level 2 or above
  • Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety and Food Allergy legislation.
  • The confidence and organisation skills to deliver a food service on time to high standards consistently

Due to the expansion of our provision, several exciting opportunities have arisen where we are recruiting a team of Assistant Psychologists to join our in-house Curriculum Access Team (CA Team), across all the sites including our new therapeutic provision in Tadworth, Surrey. .

The successful candidates will be highly motivated, enthusiastic graduate psychologists (who are eligible for graduate membership of the BPS). The team will work as a member of curriculum access Team which incorporates Speech and Language therapy, Occupational Therapy, Behavior Support and Creative Arts Therapy. You will use our Eagle House Approach to Autism designed specifically for children and young people on the autistic spectrum who have complex needs. Our approach is based on a combination of best practice, experience, and innovation. The Group is recognised as a center for Excellence for Autism and has been awarded Advanced Autism Accreditation by the UK’s national charity, the National Autistic Society.

 

As an Assistant Psychologist you will report to the Clinical Psychologist but would work closely with the C.A.Team, parents and other professionals. There are a number of roles available, both class and whole school based and each role will include individual and group work with our children, carrying out assessments, devising and implementing behaviour support plans, monitoring and reporting on progress and participation in an extensive range of in-service training. It is envisaged that the candidates appointed will have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to demonstrate good practice working with the schools wide and dynamic multi-disciplinary team

 

Hours will be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8.15am to 4.15pm, 52 weeks per year (may be negotiable)
