Annual Review Administrator

Position based in Sutton, Surrey
Salary up to £20,348.57 dependent on experience

Position to commence October 2017

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an excellent learning establishment. As a special school we are responsible for convening the annual review for all pupils with educational statements and education health care plans. This is a key role within the school and the successful candidate will have exceptional administrative skills in this busy role

Duties will include:

 Managing the administration of the annual review process

 Organising review meetings and sending out invites to parents and external bodies (local authorities)

  • Managing the annual review calendar
  • Welcoming attendees and preparing/ maintaining the annual review room
  • Attending review meetings to take/ produce formal minutes and issuing associated reports
  • Updating, maintaining reports and records using the School Management Information System (SIMS)
  • Dealing with telephone enquiries from external agencies and parents/ carers
  • Supporting the school administration office with any general administration duties
  • Supporting the use of SIMS

The successful candidate will:

  • Be an experienced administrator
  • Have experience in minute taking
  • Be organised and methodical
  • Have excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Have good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Have evidence of strong communication and listening skills
  • Good IT skills
  • A working knowledge of SIMS or similar is desirable
  • Demonstrate the ability to build long term relationships
  • Have good customer service skills
  • Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and of the SEND Code of Practice for 0 to 25 years (2015) would be desirable
  • Experience of working within a school office environment would also be a desirable attribute

Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.15a.m. – 4.30 p.m.

The successful candidate will automatically be enrolled onto our private Health Care Plan and pension plan.

Learning Support Assistants (South London)

Salary £15,500 to £17,500 per annum pro rata (Dependent on skills and experience)

The position will involve:

  • Supporting Class teachers to offer a broad-based, appropriate curriculum
  • Assisting with the supervision of students outside of classroom activities e.g. meal times and recreation times

We are looking for Learning Support Assistants who have:

  • an understanding of/interest in autism
  • experience of working with children or vulnerable adults in an education or care setting
  • an ability to work as part of a team and to use their initiative to support and implement the Eagle House approach to helping pupils who have a range of needs associated with having autism
  • a calm, patient manner and ability to react positively to extreme levels of behaviour
  • GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English and Maths

Eagle House School (Sutton) is an independent specialist co-educational day school providing secondary year’s education for learners, aged 11 to 19 years with an autism spectrum disorder (including Aspergers syndrome) and associated social and communication difficulties. Many of our learners have complex needs and behaviour associated with their autism.

At Eagle House School (Sutton), we recognise that successful learning is achieved through positive experiences and strive to create a school day that is motivating, rewarding and purposeful for each student. At the core of our teaching and learning is the Eagle House Approach, which has been developed specifically for learners with autism and brings together the ‘best of the best’ approaches. This approach is supported by our in-house multidisciplinary team of therapists, which comprises speech & language therapists, occupational therapists, a behaviour support specialist, music therapist and yoga therapist and is led by our clinical psychologist. We are looking for candidates interested in working as part of this dynamic team.
