We understand that attempting to find the right school for your child can be both daunting and exhausting. We also understand that parents and carers need to talk through their questions in an informal and supportive manner. Adele Wadey, our Parent Liaison Officer will be happy to talk to you about our admissions process and advise you on how to approach your local authority.
We can also offer an assessment process with Louise, our Admissions, Reviews and Transitions Manager, based on parent referrals. On receipt of your child’s papers, Louise or Adele will strive to contact you within 48 hours. They will give you an indication of whether a place is available for your child within a suitable peer group and their suitability.
If a place is available, we will arrange to come and meet you and your child at home where we will carry out an initial assessment and gather further information from you. Louise will then discuss your child with the school’s admissions panel to decide suitability of placement. To ensure the best possible outcome, we will invite your child in to school for a ‘sit in’, which will take between 1 and 3 days depending on the complexity of the their needs.
If the Head of Education feels that Eagle House School can meet your child’s needs then we will write to you informing you of this within 7 days of their ‘sit in’, unless a further ‘sit in’ is required. If we feel Eagle House School is not suitable for your child, Adele or Louise will discuss this with you and offer suggestions for alternative provision if required.
